Zoe Saldana is on a mission to introduce her sons to the world of dance. The talented actress, a proud mother of three, hopes to share her passion for movement and rhythm with her children and ignite their curiosity and creativity. Through her efforts, she hopes to inspire her sons to embrace the joy and benefits that dance can bring.
The 46-year-old actress sat down: W Magazine In our first issue for 2025, we share what convinced our sons to take up dance.
“I’m trying. I won’t give up. Studies have shown that it is very therapeutic for men to engage in some form of dance at a very young age or throughout their lives. Because dancing carries a lot of tension and emotion,” she said.
It looks like her older children, as well as the girls, are listening to tap music and trying hip-hop. But the youngest child is not interested at all. He is interested in other sports.
“At least my twins are tapping. My sister didn’t really know who was dancing. He wants to be Cristiano Ronaldo. He wants to be Lionel Messi.” She continued speaking. “But my twins were like, ‘Hey, are there any girls there? ‘They’re dancing hip-hop?’ And they will dance.”
In an exclusive interview early last year people Magazine, Saldana told the outlet that while raising her three sons is “a workout,” they are finding ways to have fun as a family. One of the things Saldana and Perego enjoy doing with their family is gaming.
“A big part of parenting is nurturing your child’s curiosity, developing their opinions, and meeting them where they are. So when my kids started showing interest in video games, I knew it was something we couldn’t ignore,” the actress told the outlet.
“Now the kids are at school and all their friends are playing games, so every time I come home I think, ‘Why can’t we play?’ Why can’t we do that?’ They have specific needs and if I don’t meet them, they fall behind and feel isolated at school.”
“So it was important for my husband and I to find a way to not only make it positive but also make it a family activity,” the 45-year-old added. “So we’re all playing together. They’re not just in a corner or sucked into a screen. “We are all involved.”
Saldana has three children – Cy and Bowie, 10, and Zen, 8 – with husband Marco Perego, 45.
