Zimbabwe recorded their highest total in a Test match in the first Test against Afghanistan at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
Zimbabwe set a new record in their first innings by scoring 586 runs in 135.2 overs.
Sean Williams was the top scorer of the innings with 154 off 174 balls, including 10 fours and three sixes.
AM Ghazanfar was recently picked up by Mumbai Indians for Rs. 4.8 crore was picked by the Afghanistan bowlers, who took 3 for 127 in 30.2 overs.
Besides Williams, Craig Ervine and Brian Bennett also scored centuries.
Captain Irvine scored 104 runs off 176 balls while Bennett scored an unbeaten 110 runs off 124 balls.
Ben Curran, brother of England internationals Sam and Tom Curran, also opened the batting on his Test debut, scoring 68 runs from 74 balls.
Zimbabwe’s previous best was in 2001, when they scored 563 runs from 9 overs in 167 overs against the West Indies in Harare. Hamilton Masakadza was the top scorer at the time with 119 off 316 deliveries as the match ended in a draw.
