Dandy Krazy, one of Zambia’s most popular musicians, has died from injuries sustained in a road crash on New Year’s Eve.
The 47-year-old, whose real name is Wesley Chibambo, was traveling in the Kapiri Mposhi region of Zambia when his car collided with a truck and a second vehicle.
Three people died at the scene. Dandy Krazy passed away in the early hours of Thursday despite being taken to a university hospital in the capital Lusaka for emergency surgery.
President Hakainde Hichilema was among those who paid tribute to him, calling him a “special artist.”
“His music and charisma touched the lives of a wide range of people, crossing all boundaries and bringing people together,” Hichilema wrote on Facebook.
