He accused the Russian government of “ignoring international law” while claiming to be defending the “South”.
“Your aggression is in your own interest,” he said. “It is in your own interest only. It is expanding the mafia state into a mafia empire. An empire built on corruption.”
He said: “Mr President, I speak not only as a British person, as a Londoner, or as the Foreign Secretary.
“But I’m speaking to the Russian delegate on the phone, and I’m also standing here as a black man whose ancestors were taken from Africa in chains, held at gunpoint, and enslaved, and whose ancestors rose up and fought in the great slave revolt.
“Imperialism: I know it when I see it, and I’ll shout it out for what it is,” said Rami.
Storm Shadow Push
Minister Lamy’s speech comes as Ukraine continues to lobby hard for approval to use long-range Western missiles, including British-made Storm Shadows, against targets deep inside Russia.
