As Fatal Fury characters roam the streets of Street Fighter 6, Street Fighter 6 characters are taking the quarter circle to the square circle in WWE SuperCard. In the latest crossover event between collectible card mobile games, Street Fighter 6 characters can join players’ decks as they challenge each other in Tournament Mode, and select WWE Superstars will also appear on cards themed around the fighting game characters.
Street Fighter characters that appeared in WWE SuperCard appear in Street Fighter 6, but have also appeared at various points throughout the series’ history, including Street Fighter 2 originals Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, Guile, Cammy, Blanka, E. Honda, Zangief, and Dhalsim. New characters Luke, Juri, Rashid, and Jamie, a Street Fighter 6 newcomer, are also joining the party. If you’ve always wanted Zangief to team up with Undertaker, this WWE SuperCard event is a great one.
However, WWE Superstars do not appear in Street Fighter. As explained on the WWE SuperCard website, after completing the Tournament mode, players will unlock the Car Battle bonus mode, which is based on the classic Street Fighter car destruction featured in many of the game’s Arcade mode challenges. Car Battle is where players can earn Street Fighter 6-themed gear cards, as well as crossover cards featuring Xavier Woods as Ken, Rey Mysterio as Ryu, and Zelina Vega as Juri. Car Battle mode is also where players can earn exclusive Akuma cards if they can destroy 12 cars, one for each Street Fighter character.
It may come as a surprise that this isn’t the first time Street Fighter 6 and WWE have come together. However, Zelina Vega has already appeared in Street Fighter 6 as one of the in-game live commentators under her real name, Thea Trinidad. She’s been a huge Street Fighter fan for a long time, and has cosplayed as characters like Juri and Vega at several Royal Rumbles. In fact, the “Vega” in her stage name is a reference to the Street Fighter character. Sadly, Vega hasn’t been part of the Street Fighter 6 cast since Season 2 DLC. We can only hope that the Spanish ninja finally returns to Metro City.
