The Undertaker dominated WWE for 30 years. Feuds with Kane, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and others catapulted him to the upper echelon of the industry. There is no denying that the stories surrounding Taker are the stuff of legend.
Speaking in a recent episode What were they thinking? to backstage passJBL recalled the incredible story of The Undertaker in Iraq. The Hall of Famer said he was photographed inside Saddam Hussein’s palace during a visit to Baghdad, Iraq.
“I mean, we stayed at Saddam Hussein’s palace. There’s a famous photo of me and the Undertaker sitting on Saddam Hussein’s throne. There it is, the palace.” (After 09:33)
Elsewhere on the podcast, JBL revealed that he and The Undertaker were asked by American soldiers to play golf on Saddam Hussein’s front porch during WWE’s visit to Iraq in the 2000s.
A top AEW star just called one of his colleagues ‘corrupt’ and ‘narcissistic’ here.
“We’re in Saddam Hussein’s palace and in Iraq. We’ve rarely stayed in the Green Zone. We’ve always stayed in a forward operating base. So I got Undertaker and I said, “Do you want to be a part of this? “I don’t know what was happening, but something was happening. And the soldier got a bunch of golf balls from the USO and took us out to Hussein’s front door and said, “Would you like to hit some golf balls? One of the best days of my life.” We sat there and saddened “I hit a golf ball from Hussein’s front door into his lake.” (from 25:45)
JBL didn’t reveal who won the golf game, but it looks like the former WWE Champion had a good time.
