Conditioning expert Aled Walters was appointed head of the British and Irish Lions Movement for the Australian tour in 2025.
Walters, who played a pivotal role in Springboks’ 2019 Rugby World Cup campaign, joined the second coaching setting of Andy Farrel’s new look back room staff and Ireland’s coaching settings.

Farrrell praised Walters and called him “one of the best” and emphasized his expertise in working in an international and super rugby environment. Walters will officially play a role in Lions in 2025.
Joining Walters is David Nucifora as a Performance General Manager and Vinny Hammond as an analyst.
Nucifora, former Wallavi Hooker and Brumbies coach, offers a wide range of experiences in the role of Ireland and Scotland, while Hammond returned to his third Lions tour in 2017 and 2021.
Farrel’s coaching trio recently visited the host city and the stadium to prepare for a 10 -game tour after completing RECCE in Australia.
The British will finish the entire coaching team after the Six Nation.
