The Woojer Vest 3 is here and I was lucky enough to get a chance to take it for a spin around the block. Although I wasn’t entirely impressed by the concept of a ‘haptic feedback vest’, I was willing to give it a try and see if I could transfer to this more advanced technology.
Although it may seem very expensive and a bit cumbersome at first, the Woojer Vest 3 offers amazing technologies such as: feel The games you play and the media you consume are like never before. But is it too flashy to win over the average gamer?
High price, heavy vest
If you choose to invest, you might be surprised to learn that the Woojer Vest 3 will cost you almost $500. This next-generation haptic vest screams high-quality production values, but it’s an eye-watering amount to part with for an ‘experiment’, so we’d like to thank Woojer for providing us with a review sample.
From the moment I opened the box, I knew I was in for a treat. The Woozer Best 3 screams ‘premium accessories’, from packaging to parts, materials used to construct the vest, and companion app. I admit I had some issues getting the app to connect to the vest, but these were my fault and Woojer was instrumental in getting me online as quickly as possible.
Wearing a woozer feels strange at first. Not too light and not too slim, entirely You’ll know you’ve got it. The Woojer Vest 3 is almost built to pair with the Meta Quest headset for ultimate gaming immersion, and it felt that way when I tried it out. But I also left. sweating After a suitable session.
This is one of the most adjustable things I’ve ever worn, and as a larger gamer, I was happy to see that the Woojer Vest 3 fit my body type. I shouldn’t have been surprised as it is sold in ‘one size fits all’.
It didn’t take long to get used to it, and I was able to try out its many features by pairing it with an audio source for music, a Meta Quest 3 headset, and a gaming PC. In all cases, I came away satisfied with what the Woojer Vest 3 showed me.
But what does the Woojer Vest 3 do?
As it says on the tin, the Woojer Vest 3 is a haptic feedback device. This means that when the right input is detected, it provides tangible feedback to the various ‘transducers’ so you can feel the game, music or movie.
This depends on audio level and range, so the deeper and louder the sound, the more impact you will feel through transducers located in your chest, back, and abdomen. Of course, I thought it would be very accurate and that I would feel the punch in my shoulder when I fired the rifle, but that wasn’t the case. that specific.
However, I did storm through Black Ops 6 wearing the Woojer Vest 3 and it was awesome. In Nuketown, the cacophony of explosions, gunfire, and other sound effects created a unique sensation throughout my body. I turned the feedback volume up to maximum just to laugh and the vest cut through me and my skin buzzed.
It’s a versatile device that works with basically any input, but it can be a bit tricky when using cables. For example, I had to run a cable from my PC to the vest and then plug a wired headset into the vest’s control panel to accommodate audio passthrough, but there’s a less cumbersome way to get this to work.
Looking at the technical specifications, Woozer Best 3 is equipped with six newly designed oscillators that provide ‘360-degree perceptual inference’. It can be adjusted with a convenient app and supports Bluetooth and a variety of wired inputs (USB-C, 3.5mm, etc.). It lasts up to 8 hours on a single charge and uses a unique charging solution to bring your battery levels up as quickly as possible.
Ultimately, the Woojer Vest 3 is an innovative and interesting device, but it’s prohibitively expensive and quite a hassle to wear, so I’ll be honest and say it doesn’t have much of a place in the market right now. It’s too niche a technology for the average gamer to buy, and even enthusiasts might find it a bit gimmicky.
It felt good to wear for a while and I liked the reliability of the haptics when I first tried it, but it was a hassle to put it on and take it off every session, and in the summer I could see my Woozer Best 3 filling up and putting it away in the cupboard for fear of it overheating.
If you have $500 burning a hole in your pocket and want to try something new, invest it. Otherwise, keep your money safe.
