I thought, ‘I don’t think I’ll audition for this.’ I was really torn about it, but it definitely wasn’t in the end. Who knows, I might have gotten it anyway. I thought, ‘I don’t know if I want to be America’s mom yet.’”

Greer was enjoying all the travel as a movie star, so being tied down to one set didn’t appeal to her. “It felt too limiting for what I was doing,” she said. “And it’s not just your perception of who you are as an actor, but also your lifestyle. I thought, ‘Well, I love traveling a lot, I love making movies, I love going to all these places, I love meeting all these people.’”
