If you’re of a certain age, you’re probably familiar with 90s superstar Josh Hartnett, who dominated our screens and teen magazines until he suddenly disappeared from the limelight in the mid-2000s.
But as his star power grew, Josh began to turn down Hollywood blockbusters in favor of smaller indie projects. Most notably, the star twice turned down the role of Superman, instead opting to star in lesser-known films that would avoid the media attention and glamour.
Josh elaborates in a new interview with the Guardian’s Observer magazine. He also shares a disturbing anecdote from the height of his fame.
He then detailed a terrifying incident where a random man with a gun showed up at his movie premiere and claimed to be his father. Josh was 27 at the time.
In recent years, Josh has decided to appear in more high-profile films to work with renowned directors, which is why he landed a small role in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster. OppenheimerIt was released last year.
And that’s why he’s been cast as the lead in M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming film. trapJosh admitted that he had wanted to work with the director since they first met in 2004.
