While everyone is waiting for Nintendo to announce the Switch 2 (which could come on January 16th), the company made another hardware-related announcement this week. Alarmo watches will be available in stores for everyone starting this March, a little later than expected.
The watch will begin selling for Nintendo Switch Online members in late 2024, but will be available to everyone relatively soon. Nintendo says it will sell the $100 watch “while supplies last.” Nintendo previously said it would release Alarmo at retailers in January, but the release is now being delayed until March.

Alarmo is an interactive watch featuring Nintendo-themed animations, sounds, and characters. It also has motion detection technology so you can hit snooze without physically tapping the device. Alarmo features 42 different scenes based on games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Mario Kart 8, with scenes from Animal Crossing: New Horizons coming in a later update.
In addition to using Alarmo for regular functionality, people have discovered that they can hack Alarmo to run Doom.
As for the Switch 2, recent reports suggest that Nintendo will announce the console on January 16th and then release it in May or June. There have also been reports that Microsoft is bringing Halo: The Master Chief Collection to Switch 2 and that Ubisoft is supporting the console with an Assassin’s Creed port.
