Israel and Hamas agreed to a ceasefire agreement. For Palestinians, the agreement provides a respite from Israel’s devastating military campaign that has killed more than 45,000 people in the Gaza Strip. For the Israelis, at least a third of the hostages captured by Hamas could be released. However, the ambiguity of the transaction provides ongoing uncertainty.
