New Delhi: The New Zealand cricket team, led by captain Tom Latham, registered a historic 2-0 Test series win over India with a remarkable performance. The win extended India’s unbeaten run at home to 18, a record that proves their dominance on home soil.
In his post-match reflections, Latham emphasized the importance of adopting an aggressive approach and the good fortune of winning the crucial toss.
“We played a shooting style against India and even on a few toss we were on the right flank, which was really important,” he said. The New Zealand captain elaborated further on this. His team strategy emphasizes the importance of taking control from the beginning.
“We wanted to compete and we wanted to get the shot first. We did that in both games, first with the ball and with the bat. It was really important to be able to get that first innings on the board. .” Latham explained.
Latham also acknowledged the important role played by the bowlers in securing the win and expressed satisfaction with their performance over the past few days.
He attributed the team’s success to a combination of factors, including the favorable outcome of the toss, especially in the second Test in Bangalore.
The series will conclude with the third and final Test to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai from November 1 to 5.
