This won’t be fast. The Jets plan to conduct a thorough search for their next general manager. Team 33 will help compile the list of names. The Jets will interview those candidates. They will do everything they can to add who they believe is the right person to rescue them from their 14-year playoff drought.
That search is ongoing, with the Jets officially completing interviews and scheduling others. Important note: The only candidates the Jets are currently talking to are those who are not currently under contract.

Mike Bogonzi (interview)
If you want to be successful, you might want to choose from among the most successful teams in the NFL. Borgonzi fits there. He has won three Super Bowls with the Chiefs since 2009. He started as a college scouting manager in 2009 and rose through the ranks. He is currently the Chiefs’ assistant general manager.
Alec Halabi (interview)
This is an interesting and original interview about the Jets. Halaby is Philadelphia’s assistant general manager. He is a Harvard graduate and is very interested in analytics. The system the Eagles use to identify and differentiate players after scouting is largely based on his system. He has served in various roles with the organization for 17 years.
Thomas Dimitrov (interview)
Experienced candidates are preferred. Becoming a general manager for the first time is a big deal. Doing it in New York is a whole different beast. Dimitroff fits that mold, serving as general manager of the Falcons from 2008 to 2020. The team has made the playoffs six times and the Super Bowl once (with the Patriots in 2017) during that span. As the team’s general manager, Dimitroff’s first draft pick was a quarterback. mat ryanParticipated in four Pro Bowls and earned First-Team and All-Pro honors once.
Other notable draft picks during his tenure included receivers. julio jones (Round 1, 6th place), running back Devonta Freeman (Round 4, No. 103), far right Austin Hooper (Round 3, No. 81) and receiver Calvin Ridley (Round 1, No. 26)
Dimitroff spent six years in the Patriots organization before joining Atlanta (National Scout, 2002; Director of College Scouting, 2003-2007). He also served as a college scout for the Browns (1998-2001), Lions (1994-1997) and Chiefs (1993).
John Robinson (interview)
The immediate connection here is: Mike VrabelThe coach multiple NFL sources believe is the Jets’ most coveted coach. Johnson served as the Titans’ general manager from 2016 to 2022. Vrabel was the Titans’ coach for his final four years. Johnson was previously the director of player personnel for the Bucs (2013-2015). He also spent time in the Patriots organization as a scout (2002-2007), assistant director of college scouting (2008), and director of college scouting (2009-2012).
The Titans made the playoffs four times under Robinson. What’s more impressive is that the Titans went 7-10 in Robinson’s final season, the only losing record of his tenure. They won three playoff games. Once in 2017 (beating the Chiefs) and twice in 2019 (beating the Patriots and Ravens). tackle jack conklin (Round 1, 8th place), running back derrick henry (2nd round, No. 45) Cornerback Adori Jackson (1st round, No. 18), tight end john smith (Round 3, No. 100), Defensive tackle Jeffrey Simmons (Round 1, No. 19) and receiver. AJ Brown (2nd round, No. 51) was one of his draft picks. He had one huge bust: tackles. Isaiah Wilson.

The Jets are once again pulling out all the stops to find their next general manager. Nagy, whom the team interviewed, is currently the executive director of the Senior Bowl. Nagy worked as an NFL scout for 18 years, including stops with the Packers, Commanders, Patriots, Chiefs and Seahawks.
Louis Riddick (interview)
This will be a basic lease for the Jets. Riddick currently serves as an analyst for ESPN. However, he has previous experience serving as the Eagles’ Deputy Director of Pro Personnel (2009) and Director of Pro Personnel (2010-2013). He was also Washington’s director of pro personnel from 2005 to 2007. He worked as a professional scout with his current Commanders from 2001 to 2004, and with the Eagles in 2008.
Riddick also played for various teams from 1991 to 1999. He didn’t get the general manager position, but he was in the interview cycle. The Lions and Texas both interviewed him in 2020. The Giants interviewed him in 2017.
