Former President Trump is scheduled to visit the key battleground state of North Carolina on Saturday afternoon, where he will host a rally focused on the economy and jobs.
President Trump’s campaign released a press release criticizing his Democratic rival, Vice President Harris, linking her campaign promises to the “disastrous policies” being implemented by the Biden administration.
“Under Kamala Harris, the American Dream is disappearing, and it’s hard-working North Carolinians who are paying the price,” the campaign read. “Americans still overwhelmingly want what previous generations had: a home of their own, the ability to provide for their families, a comfortable retirement. But Kamala Harris is single-handedly destroying those aspirations through disastrous policies.”
The event also comes amid Democratic criticism of Trump’s endorsement of North Carolina Lieutenant Governor Mark Robinson (R), after a CNN scathing review of the gubernatorial candidate. Robinson will not attend Saturday’s rally.
According to the Hill/Decision Desk HQ polling index, Trump is slightly ahead of Harris in Texas, with 48.4% support, compared to Harris’s 47.9%.
President Trump’s speech in Wilmington, North Carolina, is scheduled to begin at 2 p.m. ET.
