House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) is scheduled to speak Thursday as calls grow for President Biden to halt his reelection campaign.
Democratic lawmakers and donors are expressing uncertainty about whether Biden can pass a number of key tests in the coming days to remain the party’s leading presidential candidate.
And while they acknowledge that Biden will ultimately have to decide whether to seek a second term, some are urging him to look at the polls and consider whether he can beat former President Trump in November.
