President Biden is scheduled to make a series of appearances in Las Vegas on Wednesday, including speaking at the annual conference of UnidosUS, a leading national civil rights organization for the Latino community.
Biden received support from the United States in May.
In arguing for reelection to Latino voters, Biden will aim to reverse his demographic downward trend in support. When Biden took office, he had a 60% approval rating. But in recent days, the incumbent president has slumped somewhat, with 45% approval and 50% disapproval among Latino voters.
Wednesday’s speech follows Biden’s speech at the NAACP national convention in Las Vegas, where Nevada is a key swing state heading into the election, and the entire city could be a crucial source of votes for the incumbent.
But while the incumbent president maintains a similar lead over former President Trump among Latino voters in battleground states as he did in 2020, polls show that younger female Hispanic voters are increasingly willing to vote for a third-party candidate like Robert F. Kennedy Jr.
The President is scheduled to speak at 4:30 p.m. ET.
