Now that the group stage is over, the remaining eight teams from Seoul have advanced to the playoff rounds of this year’s Valorant Champions event. There’s still over $2 million at stake, and among those eight teams, one You will win a huge prize of $1 million.
Last year, Evil Geniuses took first place in Los Angeles, and Paper Rex came in second. Unfortunately, this was not a back-to-back or redemptive event. EG failed to qualify for Valorant Champions and Paper Rex this year. only They were eliminated from the tournament by EDG.
Valorant Champions Playoffs Schedule
There are four monumental games scheduled to open the playoffs. A double-elimination bracket will give each starting team two chances to lose before being eliminated from the tournament – once in the upper bracket and once again in the lower bracket.
The opening matches of the Valorant Champs playoff stage are as follows:
- DRX vs. Sentinels (August 14th)
- Trace Esports vs EDward Gaming (August 14)
- G2 Esports vs. Leviathan (August 15)
- Team Heretics vs. Fnatic (August 15)
It’s a game that anyone can play, but the current frontrunner for the top spot is DRX, with Sentinels close behind. DRX is playing in their home stadium, and that advantage has allowed the team to make a significant leap forward in the group stage, becoming one of the four teams that has never lost.
Many are now rooting for the underdog Chinese team Trace Esports, who managed to secure a big win over Leviatán earlier this week and advance to the Valorant Champs playoff round for the first time.
I sponsor Fnatic, a UK-based organization that recently celebrated its 20th anniversary. Just a few weeks ago, the team took home $100,000 in prize money at the EMEA Stage 2 tournament, and last year, the team placed second at Valorant Champs 2023. victory VCT Masters Tokyo.
