Hansen ruled out a lengthy TMO (television match official) check when Connacht flyhalf Josh Ioane tackled Leinster hooker Gus McCarthy, with the hosts ultimately deciding to award a penalty.
In contrast, he felt there wasn’t the same scrutiny as there was when Bundee Aki was rocked by Jordie Barrett.
The Irish Rugby Football Union (IRFU) provided the officiating team for the interprovincial derby, which drew a crowd of 33,963 in Dublin. Chris Busby was the referee and Peter Martin and Stuart Gaffikin were assisted by TMO Mark Patton.
“You can’t tell me that Gus McCarthy is sitting there checking it out. How much is it? Did they check it 10 or 11 times?” Hansen added.
“Bundee took a direct hit to the head, it was very obvious, no call, no care.
“I feel like we hear that all the time… and it’s starting to get really frustrating for us because people will say we’re an inconsistent team, but then you get some of the calls we get, of course we’re going to be disappointed. BE.
“I don’t mean to make excuses in any way, but I think we need to talk about this when we get calls every week. We just feel like we’re getting tired of the game and we’re not getting any calls.”
