Arne Slot does not stray far from Jurgen Klopp’s brand of sophisticated heavy metal football and rather represents continuity with it, but is still a work in progress.
Looking at Tyler Morton’s comments, it looks like his thoughts are being well-received by the current Liverpool squad.
The Englishman shared his team-mates’ ‘love’ for the Dutchman’s style of total football and backed up Curtis Jones’s views on the new importance of midfield after their 2-1 win over Arsenal.
“He likes total football. He came in and that’s the style that a lot of players like. If you don’t like the style he plays, you shouldn’t be a footballer!” The 21-year-old told liverpoolfc.com:
“It’s total football and every midfielder’s dream. You could see it today in the triangle. He’s strong in the triangle and the triangle worked today. I thought it was brilliant. We dominated and it was a great performance against a very good Arsenal team.”

Could Tyler Morton have a role this season?
If you compare Wataru Endo’s abilities to Morton’s in this new system, you might think the latter is more suited to “slotball”.
Of course, it’s still early days, and Slot isn’t at the point where he can evaluate the entire squad in preseason.
Nonetheless, recent reports suggest that they are willing to part ways with the Japanese player if a suitable offer is made.
According to David Lynch, Endo (via Born N’Red) play), and after just one year on Merseyside, he has no intention of leaving.
Let’s see if the former Stuttgart captain can change his mind about the club with his upcoming performances.
