Tara, Loser – We’re Watching Twister.
That’s right, the long-awaited sequel to the 1996 action classic finally hits theaters on Friday.
So this isn’t exactly a spoiler, but I think it’s worth talking about. Twister It’s a movie about extreme weather, and it was released at a time when the Earth is experiencing a lot of extreme weather due to climate change, but the movie doesn’t seem to mention climate change at all. For example, even alittle.
If I’m confused, you’re confused too. But don’t worry. Twister Director Lee Isaac Chung recently told CNN why the film doesn’t address the biggest issue currently threatening life on the rock (NBD).
“I wanted to make sure that when I made the film, it didn’t feel like I was sending any message,” he said. “I don’t think a film should be message-driven.”
“I think what we’re doing is showing the reality of what’s happening on the ground,” he added. “We’re not afraid to say things are changing. I wanted to make sure that we never felt like we were spreading a message, because that’s definitely not what the film should be about, in my opinion.”
“I think (films) should reflect the world,” he added.
Well, let me tell you something. The world is definitely not going to get any better any time soon! Anyway, before you head to the multiplex this Friday, watch the trailer one more time below:
