Before there was horizon, The iconic dinosaur hunter was Turok. The series peaked on the N64, but has remained that way since 2008. Release window speculation
Turok: Origins It was revealed at The Game Awards 2024 without a release window. However, the trailer showed some fairly polished and far-sighted gameplay, so there’s a chance the game isn’t that far off.

The announcement trailer is the only footage we have so far. Turok: Origins. It opens with a CGI scene of several Turoks hunting dinosaurs in the jungle using a mix of traditional and sci-fi weaponry. This section ends with a large alien spaceship appearing overhead before gameplay begins.
Game director Jesus Iglesias said on the PlayStation Blog: Turok: Origins It connects to established knowledge. “Turok: Origins It fits perfectly into the world of Turok as the legendary Turok Warriors unite to save humanity from an aggressive alien race and annihilation. As the story unfolds, players will discover ancient mysteries related to the Cult of Turok and its history.”
Turok has always been a passed down mantle, so this is a consistent way to expand knowledge. Where it takes place in the timeline, who this alien race is, and how these Turok warriors come together are still a mystery.
gameplay
For the first time, Turok: Origins The series will transition from an FPS to a third-person shooter. The reason for this change is simply that Saber is much more comfortable with making third-person games and offers a new take on the franchise. It’s also the first game that can be played solo or co-op. The trailer shows three Turoks simultaneously, but there’s no official word on how many players will be able to team up.
As for weapons, we know there will be melee options, special abilities, and a variety of weapons including bows, snipers, ray guns, and plasma rifles. There will also be an upgrade system that collects enemy DNA as a resource.
