Former President Trump’s rally in Milwaukee on Friday was derailed by technical difficulties, with microphone problems raging during his final scheduled stop in the swing state of Wisconsin.
The crowd at Fiserv Forum, where the Republican National Convention was held last July, occasionally chanted “Fix the microphone,” and President Trump took the microphone out of its holder and held it in his hand.
“But I think this Mike stinks. And we don’t pay the contractors. When I tell them not to pay the contractors, they say, ‘Trump doesn’t pay the bills. He’s a bad guy,’” Trump said. .
“Do you want to see me knocking people out backstage?” President Trump later added, “It’s a very foolish situation.”
“I’m so angry. It’s boiling over here. It’s boiling over. They’re doing this stupid shit with this stupid microphone. My left arm exploded, and now my right arm exploded. And I feel like my throat is exploding, too, because these idiots are the reason I I’ll make you a deal, if you pretend to listen perfectly, I’ll come back and do another one, okay?” He added, slamming the microphone against the podium.
The former president’s comments echoed heavily in his recent campaign speeches, as he attacked former first lady Michelle Obama as “nasty,” disparaged Vice President Harris’s qualifications to be president and pledged to crack down on immigration at the southern border.
Friday’s rally in Milwaukee is the final visit to Wisconsin on Trump’s schedule. He is planning events in North Carolina, Virginia on Saturday, North Carolina and Georgia on Sunday, and North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Michigan on Monday.
Trump narrowly won Wisconsin in 2016 and lost the state by about 20,000 votes in 2020, but on Friday falsely claimed he had won the state twice. Trump and Harris are essentially tied in the Badger State ahead of Election Day, according to an average of Wisconsin polls from Decision Desk HQ/The Hill.
