Last year, Rouse self-published a 291-page book on a range of geopolitics, including his failed attempt to support Ukraine in its ongoing war against Russian aggression, his views on the Taliban takeover of Afghanistan and the growing military threat from China to Taiwan.
The book, published in February 2023, is titled “Ukraine’s Unwinnable War: Democracy’s Fatal Flaw, Global Abandonment, and World Citizen—Taiwan, Afghanistan, North Korea, and the End of Humanity.” The Huffington Post has not read the book and cannot independently verify its contents, but it appears to still be available on Amazon.
According to CNN, Routh’s book specifically criticizes Trump for his “huge mistake” in withdrawing from the Iran nuclear deal when he was president in 2018, calling the Republican “foolish,” “clowns” and “idiots,” a decision Routh says led to Tehran supplying Russia with drones that ultimately inflicted massive damage on Ukraine.
He has also reportedly compared Venezuela’s dictatorship of Nicolás Maduro to the attempted coup by Trump supporters at the U.S. Capitol on January 6, 2021.
According to CNN, Rouss wrote, “We have recreated the destructive events (in Venezuela) with the catastrophe that Donald Trump and his undemocratic cohorts perpetrated on January 6th.”
The 58-year-old suspect in Sunday’s assassination attempt reportedly voted for Trump in 2016, but wrote in his book that he was “manly enough to say I made a bad judgment call and a terrible mistake.”
