Former President Donald Trump on Monday attacked Fox News in a series of posts on his Truth social platforms after the conservative network announced it would host an interview with Vice President Kamala Harris later this week.
Fox News’ Bret Baier said he would tape an interview with Harris in the key battleground state of Pennsylvania on Wednesday as the vice president seeks to expand her outreach to voters in the final stages of her campaign.
Trump insisted that Harris was right to choose Bayer to question her, describing the host as “sometimes very soft on people on the ‘cocktail circuit’ left.”
“I would like to see some more hard-line journalists, but Fox is so weak and soft on the Democratic Party that they are constantly polluting the airwaves with unopposed Kamala members, so it doesn’t matter anymore,” Trump said.
Trump continued to blast the network’s move to air dissenting voices on air, including from Ian Sams, the Harris campaign’s chief spokesman, claiming “it has a very negative impact on the election.”
“Think about it. I spend an hour with the great Maria Bartiromo, she does a great job, and then I am followed by a whole day of one-sided, negative Democrats, including Ian Sams, who practically owns the network,” he wrote. “It’s not worth doing an interview on Fox. Because everything just averages out to nothing. FoxNews has completely lost its way!”
Trump was widely criticized for telling Bartiromo that if he was re-elected, he would order U.S. troops to attack enemy forces. The ‘Sunday Morning Special’ host did not counter his threat.
In a later post on Truth Social, Trump singled out anchor Neil Cavuto, who interviewed Sams, adding that he has the worst show on television and the worst ratings on the network.
Sams criticized Trump for skipping interviews with mainstream media over the past month.
“We have to wonder why,” Sams told Cavuto.
President Trump canceled an interview with CBS’ “60 Minutes” earlier this month and canceled an appearance on CNBC’s “Squawk Box,” he announced on air Tuesday.

Nonetheless, Trump continued to appear in more friendly environments. In addition to sitting down with Bartiromo, the GOP presidential candidate will be in Georgia on Tuesday to record a town hall with Fox News’ Harris Faulkner with an all-female audience focused on issues affecting women in this election. This broadcast airs at 11 a.m. ET. The next day.
In addition to appearing on Fox News, Harris is said to be considering attending an interview with the right-leaning ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ podcast in an effort to win over young male voters.
