Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yves Bissouma was attacked with pepper spray by two assailants in the early hours of Sunday, the player’s lawyer has said, confirming media reports.
The 27-year-old was outside a luxury hotel in Cannes with his partner when the incident occurred. The hooded attackers stole his watches worth €300,000 ($326,250) and fled.

Contacted by Reuters, Bissouma’s lawyer Bastien Caire declined to comment further while the investigation continues.
Bissouma joined Spurs from Brighton in 2022 for a fee of £25 million, signing a four-year contract with the north London club.
He has made 28 appearances in the Premier League this season but has missed Spurs’ final two games due to a knee injury.
Spurs finished fifth in coach Ange Postecoglou’s first season in charge.
The Mali international represented his country at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations, where they were eliminated by eventual champions Ivory Coast in the round of 16.
