Tia Mowry opens up about her life after divorce in new reality show. Tia Mori: My next moveIt will premiere today, Friday, October 4th.
The eight-part series explores Mowry’s life following her high-profile split from actor Cory Hardrict. The former couple, who have two children, Cree (13) and Cairo (6), divorced last year.
In a sneak peek at the show, Tia talks about the challenges of co-parenting, especially when it comes to dropping the kids off at their dad’s house.
“One of the hardest things I had to adjust to was dropping the kids off at my dad’s house. I always wanted a family dynamic with mom and dad in the same house. “When you drop your kids off, you can visually see how things haven’t changed anymore,” she says in the preview.
She also reflects on the loneliness that came with her new reality.
“Being alone was the hardest part of the divorce. At times like this, I wish my sister and I were still close so I could pick up the phone and call her. But that’s not where we are right now.”
Earlier this week, the mom of two appeared on Today with Hoda and Jenna to talk about her path to healing and self-discovery.
“The biggest change I’ve learned about myself is that I take responsibility for my own pain and suffering,” she said.
“That’s why I go to therapy, journal, and spend time with myself. “Loneliness is not a punishment,” he said. “And I’m excited about my new chapter.”
Mowry is encouraged by the personal growth she has experienced, which has made her a more present and mindful parent.
“I’ve learned so much and I want to apply it to new (potential) relationships, but I’m already doing that,” she admits, adding. “I can see myself becoming a better mom and just being around my friends.”
