Collaboration combining drone imagery and mapping technology into an integrated platform
Australian drone technology company Aerologix has partnered with digital mapping platform Soar to create the world’s largest library of high-quality drone images and maps. The goal of the collaboration is to combine Aerologix’s network of more than 36,000 professional drone pilots with Soar’s digital mapping infrastructure to provide users with a unified platform for drone imagery, satellite data and maps.
“This partnership is a game-changer for the drone industry and mapping technology,” said Tom Caska, co-founder and CEO of Aerologix. “By combining Soar’s powerful distribution platform with our extensive network of professional drone pilots, we are creating unprecedented access to aerial imagery while creating a new revenue stream for the pilot community. “Together we are creating a new atlas of the world.”
Key innovations in drone and mapping technology
This collaboration introduces four key features to enhance drone imaging and mapping capabilities.
- Access Aerologix’s library of drone images: Soar’s platform now includes Aerologix’s extensive collection of drone imagery.
- Earning Opportunities for Drone Pilots: Professional pilots can distribute and monetize their content through the Soar platform.
- Simplified licensing for businesses: Companies can find and license aerial photos more easily.
- AerologixMaps integration: AerologixMaps now seamlessly connects to Soar’s global mapping resources.
These innovations are expected to simplify the process of accessing and using aerial and mapping data for a wide range of users.
Open access mapping for a broad audience
Soar’s platform offers nearly 700,000 maps and serves as a free, open resource. Contributors include major organizations such as NASA, the European Union, satellite imaging companies, and individual users. The platform supports a variety of users, including students, citizen scientists, mining companies, and media outlets such as the BBC. new york timesand washington post.
“What I love about Aerologix is that it is not only a global solution, but one with a vast network that provides incredible scalability,” said Amir Farhand, Soar founder and CEO. “The platform is designed for seamless interaction, and we are excited to collaborate and contribute to the end goal of building the world’s largest atlas.”
Support innovation and growth
The partnership comes as Aerologix continues to expand globally, launching in New Zealand and investing in advanced mapping technology. Aerologix is also part of the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Digital Sky platform. The iOS and Android apps integrate CASA weather updates, location-based data and flight zone maps to ensure compliance and safety for drone operations.
The integration of Aerologix and Soar technology sets a new benchmark for combining drone and mapping data into a single, accessible resource. This initiative not only provides practical solutions for businesses, but also provides educational and creative opportunities for a global audience.
