Australian actor Charlie Vickers was relatively unknown before joining the group. Ring of Power The cast has a big role as Sauron from The Lord of the Rings, although Season 2 shows Sauron before the Lord of the Rings, before he created the One Ring that would eventually rule all.
Far from the all-powerful Eldritch portrayed by director Peter Jackson, Vickers’ Sauron is flesh and blood (for the most part). He’s charming and compelling, and Vickers’ performance brings a bit of humanity to the Dark Lord.

“It’s nice to develop a different side of Sauron,” Vickers told Global News. “I think it’s more interesting to approach it from the perspective that he’s trying to achieve his goal of healing and rehabilitating Middle-earth, and he’s trying to take everyone else with him.”
To some fans, a Sauron with a moral bent might seem bizarre, but in the legends invented by JRR Tolkien, Sauron is a primordial spirit, similar to Gandalf, a servant of a higher being called the Valar. Sauron turns to evil. It’s a familiar story. ring Universe – but he started out as a “good” guy.
Ring of Power As anyone who watched the end of the first season knows, this tension is nods to by giving Sauron a mysterious motivation. But like the characters in the show, the audience is never sure what is real and what is deception when it comes to Sauron. Season 2 certainly delivers on this with a healthy dose of deception and surrealism.
Despite the smoke and mirrors, fans can at least rest assured that Durin’s beard isn’t just some clever CGI effect.
