Tonight at the 2024 Game Awards we got our first real look at what was previously announced. Borderlands 4is the next major entry in Gearbox’s hugely popular first-person looter shooter series.
Here’s the first gameplay trailer showing off the new world, guns, features, and the new Vault Hunters crew.
In the new trailer, which picks up right where the initial reveal teaser left off, we see a massive battle taking place between what appears to be an army of angry mutants and mannequin-like aliens who appear to be led by a villain with a strange, ominous face. It’s hidden in the teaser.
According to the PlayStation official blog:This new villain is the main antagonist of Borderlands 4 and is known as the Timekeeper. He rules over Kairos, the game’s new main planet.
We can also see a ton of new guns and locations in the gameplay trailer during the montage. And there’s a moment at the end where the player uses the holo grapple hook and climbs to higher ground within seconds. before Borderlands The game didn’t have that much mobility, though. Borderlands 3 Added mantling and more movement options. The fourth entry in Gearbox’s sci-fi franchise will likely add more ways to move around while slaying bandits and looting weapons.
Borderlands 4 announced last August. The game is scheduled to release in 2025 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and the Epic Games Store.
