Ubisoft has been slowly but surely returning to the Steam store over the past year, and Assassin’s Creed: Shadows will return with a day one release on the platform. Ubisoft has also updated several existing titles by adding Steam achievements. These stealth updates are welcome news, and the best entry in the Far Cry series now includes Steam achievements as well. If you’ve been waiting for an excuse to meet the charismatic Pagan Min again, it’s time to re-download Far Cry 4.
Far Cry 4 – Steam Achievements are now also available
Like other Ubisoft titles, Far Cry 4 now has built-in Steam achievements that can be unlocked and collected. If you’ve previously played the game on Steam, all you have to do is launch the title and any achievements you unlock in Ubisoft Connect will automatically sync to Steam. You don’t need to get this again.
Everyone has their favorite Far Cry game, and I had a great time with Far Cry 3, but the fourth entry takes everything that’s special about the new formula and turns it up to 11, while adding in a lot of the quirks to address them. There were larger maps, more verticality, better customization for the protagonist, a wider range of usable weapons, and a much more complex campaign.
It also offers greater gameplay depth and freedom than its sequel, with a greater focus on immersion and player control. Did I mention that you can destroy a bandit camp while riding an elephant with a machine gun in one hand? Because you can do that in Far Cry 4.
It’s also a great game, and Kyrat is one of the best locations in the series. Start now in a vibrant open world with breathtaking landscapes and an incredible variety of flora and fauna. Ubisoft also confirmed in the same announcement post that Far Cry 3 will also get Steam achievements at a later date.
Now that I’ve successfully sold this worthy sequel and expressed my love for the last Far Cry game I truly enjoyed, go ahead and re-download the game to earn the Steam achievement, then let me know how wrong I was in the comments.
