Police in Texas are searching for a murder suspect after two people were reportedly killed at a Chick-fil-A restaurant Wednesday afternoon.
The Irving Police Department announced that suspect Bernardo Mendoza Argueta, 37, is accused of shooting at least two people in the 5300 block of North MacArthur Boulevard in Irving, Texas. According to FOX 4 Dallas, the location was a Chick-Fil-A restaurant.
Authorities confirmed the shooting in a statement to Fox News Digital. An Irving Police Department spokesperson said in a statement that officers were alerted to the situation around 3:50 p.m. Wednesday.
“When officers arrived on scene they found two people suffering from gunshot wounds,” a police spokesman said. “Irving Fire medics pronounced both men dead at the scene.”

A police official added, “The suspect fled before the police arrived.”
The spokesperson also said police believe the shooting was targeted.
“We believe this was a targeted incident and not a random act of violence,” the official added.

Residents are asked to look for a silver 1997 Honda with Texas license number GVH6205. Police warn the suspect may still be dangerous and ask residents to call 911 immediately if they see him.
The Irving Police Department also asked residents to avoid the area while the investigation continues.
