An Axios report claimed Sunday that tensions and misunderstandings are growing between the White House and the Harris campaign.
“With the president pushed out of his re-election bid, many of Biden’s top aides have suffered injuries and are still adjusting to supporting roles on the campaign trail,” national political correspondent Alex Thompson reported.
“They have too much emotion,” one Harris colleague told Axios of the White House.
Thompson said the main issue with some Harris campaign members is that White House aides are “not doing enough to align Biden’s message and schedule to match what’s best for the vice president’s campaign.”

Thompson cited recent conflicts, including President Biden holding an impromptu news conference Friday and Vice President Kamala Harris attending an event in Michigan.
Another notable incident included Biden praising Florida Governor Ron DeSantis for his handling of the recent hurricanes, shortly after Harris accused DeSantis of not returning his calls. Thompson wrote to a person familiar with the situation that he was not briefed on Harris’ comments before Biden praised DeSantis.
A Harris aide told Thompson, “There’s not enough people in the White House who are thinking first and foremost about how the situation will affect the campaign.”
Despite “bitter feelings” among some Biden aides, most of them are “actively rooting” for Harris’ victory, the report added. But there are ongoing tensions with some White House staffers switching to the Harris campaign. There are Biden aides in particular who feel “the Biden team has been labeled disloyal for leaving or even considering leaving.”
“There is also awkwardness in Harris’s campaign between some of Biden’s original campaign staff and Harris allies appointed in recent weeks,” Thompson wrote. “In the weeks since Harry became the Democratic nominee, there has been debate on TV about whether Biden’s primary surrogate will continue to fill that role or whether a new person will emerge, two people familiar with the matter told Axios.”
Some critics show the book claims the BIDEN-HARRIS split surfaced earlier than the previous President-Vice President rift.
“President Biden endorsed Vice President Harris immediately after leaving the race, rejecting other approaches that could divide the party, and demonstrating and continually making clear her leadership abilities,” White House deputy press secretary Andrew Bates said in comments to Fox News Digital. said. His support for her.”
“We have made significant changes to ensure that all critical functions of the White House are fully staffed, while ensuring that the Vice President’s team has all the support and resources it needs. This builds on the strong and trusting relationship between our two teams. A precedent for a new candidate. This is critical to successfully making the transition,” concludes Bates.
The Harris campaign has not yet responded to a request for comment.
