While touring Teedra’s long-overdue Tiny Desk, fans couldn’t help but notice Teedra’s striking resemblance to the legendary Phylicia Rashad, which became increasingly uncanny with the show.
“Teedra Moses came out wearing the same red outfit she wore on the album cover,” Tiny Desk Concerts host and series producer Bobby Carter wrote. “She couldn’t wait to go to the office and sing. Of course, I put off officially inviting her to the desk for years because I knew this milestone was coming and that this album was worthy of respect in a big way. She rarely performs songs from Complex… Because we play exclusively, we brought in some special guests, including long-time collaborator J. Black and Tiny Desk alumnus Durand Bernarr, who brought their families.”
