I always have to be very careful when reading predictions from supercomputers, especially when they predict Chelsea will finish third in the Premier League this season!
But something even stranger happened…
Supercomputers use massive amounts of data, including players, squads, new signings, managers, performances, and past season results, to predict each game of the season, and use this to determine the final league standings at the end of the season.
As reported sun This week we have the latest Premier League results and Chelsea are in 3rd place!
To be honest, there are some surprising news here, one of which is that Nottingham Forest are relegated ahead of Leicester City.
I think Bournemouth, Brentford and Fulham will be ranked higher than that.
Can’t we be sure that Chelsea are ahead of Liverpool despite losing to Forest at the weekend?
Isn’t it a sure thing that Aston Villa will finish higher than 10th!?
Wouldn’t we all be happy if we could get third place this season?
I recently did a poll on my personal Chelsea website and most people predicted Chelsea would finish sixth, which is three places lower than what the supercomputer predicted.
Personally, I didn’t get much out of the supercomputer’s predictions, but it might be worth revisiting them as the season winds down and comparing them to the predictions that Jay and I made on recent podcasts.
I think this league is really tough and no game is easy. We have to compete every week to get points and going to Bournemouth on Saturday proved that again.
To finish third in such a powerful and difficult league would be a huge achievement.
