Baku, Azerbaijan, August 12. Political analyst Azeri Garayev said that friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries are strengthening, Trend reported.
He said President Ilham Aliyev had stressed during his meetings with the heads of Central Asian countries that Azerbaijan’s international authority and strategic importance were growing.
Analysts noted that Azerbaijan’s participation in this format, thanks to the president’s personal approach and forward-looking strategy, strengthens Azerbaijan’s position as a reliable regional partner.
“This event demonstrates the deepening of historical and friendly ties between Azerbaijan and the Central Asian countries. Cooperation has been successfully carried out both in bilateral and multilateral settings. This includes cooperation within international organizations such as OTS, SCO, UN SPECA program, CIS, OIC. The high-level visit has significantly contributed to elevating these relations to a strategic partnership,” said Garayev.
He also stressed that trade and economic relations are growing, and that the trade turnover between Azerbaijan and Central Asia will reach $1.4 billion in 2023.
“The Middle Corridor, an important transport and logistics route, is essential for strengthening the connection between Azerbaijan and Central Asia. Cooperation in the green energy sector is also noteworthy, aimed at achieving common goals, as evidenced by the ‘Memorandum of Cooperation on Integration of Energy Systems of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan’ in 2023,” the political analyst emphasized.
According to Garayev, cooperation between Azerbaijan and Central Asian countries has great potential for future development and strengthens Azerbaijan’s strategic importance in the regional and international context.
