Stellantis unveils redesigned Ram full-size truck

The full-size truck is expected to arrive in U.S. dealers in the first quarter of this year, with prices starting at $47,560, about $2,300 more than the current model.

They follow the delayed launch of its redesigned smaller sibling, the Ram 1500 pickup, which launched last year.

Ram CEO Tim Kuniskis, who retired last May and returned to the automaker in December, said the launch of the Ram 1500 is improving.

“There are too many delays. To be honest, we should have had those (1,500) trucks fully operational this summer. We should have had (the heavy trucks) already,” Kuniskis said at a media event. “It’s getting better every day.”

Pickup trucks are an important product for U.S. brands like Ram, which reported a 19% year-over-year drop in 2024 sales. This includes a 16% decline in sales of Ram pickup trucks. This compares to competitors such as: ford and GMChevrolet reports 2024 level sales for pickup trucks.

“We were very upset,” Kuniskis said, noting that the launch of the 1500 model was the main reason for the brand’s decline in sales.

Diesel engines are an important option for heavy-duty truck customers who use their vehicles for hauling, towing and other job-related tasks. The other engine option is the 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 that delivers 405 horsepower and 429 foot-pounds of torque.

The 2025 Ram Heavy Duty lineup includes Tradesman, Big Horn/Lone Star, Laramie, Rebel, Power Wagon, Limited Longhorn and Limited models. The truck was built in Saltillo, Mexico.
