San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich didn’t hold back during a lengthy pregame rant at a Saturday press conference, denouncing “pathetic” Donald Trump and his “thug”-like qualities.
Popovich, who described the former president as a “small” and “damaged man,” appealed to Republicans to support him even though they know “he’s an idiot.”
“They continued to call him a xenophobe, a religious bigot, a racist and unfit for public office. Their words stay with him,” said the coaching icon, who is an outspoken critic of Trump.
“Don’t they realize that they have children and grandchildren who will lose their freedom if this man is elected? “I’m not talking about policy, I’m talking about our country’s ideology.”
Earlier in his remarks, Popovich called the Republican candidate “the biggest whiner on the planet.”
“I mean, he’s like the worst example of a fifth grade bully I’ve ever seen. I mean, do you want your kids to act like that guy?” he asked.
Popovich continued to mock Trump for making excuses during the campaign.
″(He says:) ‘Everyone follows me. Everyone, this, that, that. I am doing this for you. Poor me, poor me. Crying, whining, whining.’ And you see, he lost the election and he continues to lie about it,” Popovich said.
Popovich later pointed to his grandchildren and asked if they wanted the former president to be an “example” for them when things go wrong.
“I hope, like everyone in this room, we have all taught our kids, ‘You can’t always win, but when you do, be humble.’ If you lose, act graciously.’ We all do that. He doesn’t do that.” he said, nodding to Trump’s 2020 presidential election loss.

“So do all the people who support him want him to teach their children?”
