Sony recently released a fix for a firmware update that reportedly broke the following games: Final Fantasy 16 experienced intense graphical glitches and other issues. Publisher Square Enix has officially Final Fantasy 16 On Friday, the X (formerly Twitter) account posted that there was a small update available for PlayStation 5 players to install.
“In response to crashes and graphical bugs that occurred in the PlayStation 5 version, Final Fantasy 16(Sony Interactive Entertainment) has released a new system update. Please download and install this update,” the post reads, adding that it will continue to investigate the issue with SIE.

Sony has not commented on the situation beyond releasing system update 24.06-10.01.00, which the official patch notes only say “improves system software performance and stability.”
PS5 players have said they’ve also encountered issues with other games. Death Stranding: Director’s Cut and No Man’s SkySquare Enix is the only studio to publicly acknowledge this in response to this particular update, posting earlier this week: “Following the recent release of the PlayStation system update, there have been reports of game crashes and graphical issues. We are currently working with (Sony Interactive Entertainment) to investigate.”
The bug began last week with the release of PS5 system update 24.06-10.00.00. The update added a Welcome Hub to the console’s home screen, bringing in previous beta features like customization options, party sharing, personalized 3D audio profiles, and adaptive controller charging for PS5 Slim users. One particularly egregious case involved a player Final Fantasy 16 Environment, for lack of a better term, a glitch that doesn’t exist. There were so many players experiencing this issue that a thread was created on the game’s subreddit to coordinate efforts.
