“I’m in Paris commentating for the Olympics,” said Snoop Dogg, 52. popularity “(I’m) also hanging out, having a good time, and bringing a little bit of Snoop Dogg flavor to Paris,” he said in a YouTube interview released Tuesday, July 30.
The legendary rapper was tapped as a special correspondent for NBC and Peacock’s live Olympic coverage. While covering the athletes’ path to the podium, Snoop proved himself to be Team USA’s No. 1 cheerleader.
At volleyball, gymnastics and tennis events, Snoop debuted a custom USA T-shirt featuring his face. Kelly Cheng, Simone Biles and Coco GauffEach.
Gauff, 20, captioned an Instagram Story photo of the musician in the audience, “Snoop loves fashion.”

Snoop had a special role in the opening ceremony as one of the official relay torchbearers.
“I felt like ~ Muhammad Ali. I found out that when I was carrying the torch, I was a messenger of peace,” he enthused in an NBC interview after the parade. “I was waving, shaking hands, kissing babies. You know what I’m doing? Putting my feet on the pavement and letting people know that we’re here. We’re here for peace, love, unity and great sportsmanship.”

Snoop Dogg showed his support for Biles, 27, during the women’s all-around gymnastics preliminaries, wearing a T-shirt with a large photo of Biles underneath his patriotic tracksuit.
All in on swimming
Snoop has been a fixture in several swimming events, including the men’s 4x100m relay. He watched the U.S. gold medal race with the star swimmer’s wife. Caleb Dressel.
Trading Pins
One of the features of the event is that players can exchange pins representing their respective countries. Snoop brought his own pin, which featured a cartoon version of himself blowing smoke from the iconic Olympic rings. Gauff was one of the lucky players to receive a limited edition piece of jewelry.
“Hey Snoop Dogg, thanks for the pin,” Gauff enthused in an Instagram video. “This is the best pin I’ve ever received. Hope to see you at the US Open. Or are you coming to watch (our match) on Wednesday? Thanks for the pin. See you on the next one.”
Learn the Olympic Way
Snoop got VIP swimming lessons from one of the most decorated Olympians of all time. Michael Phelps.
“See, me and MP? We go backstroke,” Snoop joked during a pre-taped segment. “The wingspan, the lung power – I definitely have great lung power – and the body of a swimmer.[Michael and I]could be twins.”
Phelps, 39, taught Snoop the backstroke because he wanted the rapper to stay in “gold medal shape.”
Enthusiastic volleyball cheering squad
After watching a women’s beach volleyball game, Snoop Dogg declared to NBC reporters that he was their “coach.”
“I have to represent the United States all day long,” he said. “I had the opportunity to meet these women and fell in love with them. The whole strategic approach they have to teaching teamwork and keeping family and sisterhood (centered) is really important to me. I love supporting that.”
The GOAT of sports commentary
Of course, one of Snoop Dogg’s official duties is to explain events to TV viewers. On Sunday, July 28, fans were thrilled with his detailed explanation of the points from the USA vs. China men’s doubles badminton match.
“You see, it doesn’t stop until the coffin falls. It rocks and rolls. Back and forth,” he said. “‘Give me that. No, we need that. No, here. No, over there. How about over there? Closing Ceremony Performers
Snoop Dogg returned to Los Angeles to perform at the 2024 Paris Olympics Closing Ceremony on August 11. He was joined by artists like H.E.R., who sang the national anthem, Billie Eilish, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
Snoop Dogg performed his hit “Drop It Like It’s Hot” before bringing out Dr. Dre to perform “The Next Episode.” Los Angeles will host the next Olympics in 2028.
