Moses “Shine” Barrow He claims he was “set up” for his involvement in the 1999 New York nightclub shooting. Sean “Didi” Combs.
On Monday, October 21, the trailer for the upcoming Hulu documentary was released. Honorable ShineBarrow, 45, is seen telling the camera: “I was totally ready to be the falling man.”
The trailer also includes audio of Barrow struggling to come to terms with the Manhattan incident in which he was convicted of first-degree assault in 2001 and sent to prison. He was charged with two counts of criminal possession of a weapon but was found not guilty on all charges.
Barrow, who spent 10 years in prison, said in the teaser: “One of the hardest parts was watching everyone succeed.” “You know, just watch. 50 (cent).” (Barrow met 50 Cent, 49, at Diddy’s Manhattan recording studio Daddy’s House around 2000.)
Diddy was charged with the shooting that injured three people, but the music mogul insisted during his trial that he shot in self-defense.
Barrow’s prison time ended in 2009 when he was deported back to Belize. The former rapper later entered politics and currently serves as the Leader of the Opposition in the Belize House of Representatives.
The trailer also touches on Barrow’s career transition, with him telling the camera: “I spent 10 years in prison, but I was able to move on. There is time to transition. There was a period of transition and that’s how I got into politics. Politics came naturally to me because it gave me a purpose.”
Barrow recently spoke publicly about Diddy, who was arrested on September 16 on charges of racketeering, sex trafficking, and transportation for prostitution.
At a September press conference in Belize, Barrow recalled the 1999 shooting and Diddy’s involvement. “When I was 18, I was making my mother proud and Belize proud… I wanted nothing more than to be recognized for my talents and take over the world. I was defending him and he turned around and called witnesses to testify against me,” Barrow said at the time. “He almost sent me to jail.”
Barrow expressed forgiveness for Diddy and went on to say: “Don’t lose sight of the cold, hard facts. This is not someone I have ever vacationed with or with whom I have enjoyed this great, close brotherly relationship. This is the man who destroyed my life, the man I forgave and moved with for the greater good of Belize. Because at that time he was in a position to give and invest in scholarships. I will not deny attempts to invest in Belize and contribute to education.”
Barrow, who joined Diddy on stage in the UK for the music event at the O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire in November 2023, added: “But do I feel any joy or satisfaction about what he is going through? Absolutely not.”

Didi, who is currently incarcerated at the Brooklyn Metropolitan Detention Center awaiting the start of his trial on May 5, 2025, has denied all charges related to his September arrest.
Diddy’s lawyer Mark Agnifilo said our week “We are disappointed in the U.S. Attorney’s Office’s decision to pursue what we believe was an unfair prosecution of Mr. Combs,” it said at the time. Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs is a music icon, self-made entrepreneur, loving family man, and proven philanthropist who has spent the past 30 years building an empire, loving his children, and uplifting the Black community.”
Agniphilo said, “He is an imperfect man, but he is not a criminal. Mr. Combs has been cooperative in the investigation and voluntarily moved to New York last week in anticipation of these charges. Please reserve judgment until you have all the facts. “These are the actions of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.”
