how because Hellblade 2 The game aims to portray Senua’s mental illness realistically, but it’s intentionally a little confusing to play. You might be a little confused as to what exactly happened during this seven-hour adventure. So we’re explaining exactly what happened along the way. Hellblade 2 How the game wraps up, literally and thematically.
How does Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 begin?
Hellblade 2 An undisclosed period of time begins thereafter. Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice. After defeating Hela, accepting Dillion’s death, and vanquishing the inner darkness represented by his father, Senua decides to renew the fight against Midgard and the invaders who destroyed Dillion’s village and sacrificed him. She was taken as a slave, Norseman-Style, but a fierce storm causes a shipwreck at the start of the game. From there, Senua fights her way up the rocky beach.
In the process, the darkness within her, represented by her father, returns, but she is able to defeat Thórgestr, the captain of the slave ship she was on and the son of Gordi, responsible for the marauders and slave traders that plague Midgar. Senua decides not to kill Thórgestr and forces him to begin leading him to the village of Borgarvirki. Not long into her journey, Senua must stop at a village that has apparently been attacked by cannibal Draugar. She enters the village, fights the Draugar, and rescues a man named Fargrímr.
Fargrímr recognizes Senua’s psychosis and tries to cheer her up, calling her a seer. Unfortunately, freeing Fargrímr also awakened Illtauga, one of the giants that plague Midgard and prevent anyone from leaving. Fargrímr, who narrowly escaped the Illtauga’s attack, tells Senua to seek out the Hiddenfolk to find out how it is possible to kill the giants.
Senua’s journey to find the Hidden Fork brings her to a cave, and as she descends deeper and deeper into the cave, she confronts the darkness within herself and learns the truth about Iltauga. Her giantess was Ingunn, once a human woman who was transformed into a giantess while trying to leave her daughter in the care of the Hiddenfolk as chaos descended on Midgar. Her daughter did not survive, but Ingunn did, as did Illtauga. Senua, now knowing her giant’s name, understands that this is how she will defeat him.
Quest to defeat the giant
Armed and knowing Illtauga’s real name, Senua confronts and defeats the giant in the heart of the fiery volcano, earning Thórgestr’s respect. The three continue their journey to Borgarvirki, but must stop at a coastal village. The people there want to kill Thórgestr, but Senua convinces them and joins forces with their leader Ástríðr to take on a giant named Sjavarrisi who is attacking the village.
Senua eventually learns that Sjavarrisi is actually a man named Saegeirr who lived in the village but betrayed its leader to the slavers who plagued Midgar. He was banished and turned into a giant. Draugur attacks the village and Senua is almost persuaded to stop the quest because of all the losses she experiences and causes, but overcomes the battle with the help of her newfound friends.
After learning Shabarisi’s real name, Senua, her colleagues, and the villagers perform a ritual to drag Shabarisi out of the cave where he lives. Senua confronts Sjavarrisi in the center of the storm and, calling him Saegeirr, turns Sjavarrisi to stone and wins this battle. Ástríðr decides to continue traveling with Senua and heads to Borgarvirki. Before they get there, they encounter a haunted forest. While Senua’s companions suggest looking around, Senua lets her group go through there so as not to waste time.
The forest disturbs the minds of Senua and her compatriots, causing them all to see and hear things that are not there. Senua is able to reveal herself as her friend and her leader and guide them out of her forest. At this point it is very clear that Senua has a group of her friends who respect and trust her as they approach her Borgarvirki. Thórgestr tells Senua to trust him as he can persuade her father to stop holding slaves and threatening the people of Midgar.
How did Senua’s Saga: Hellblade 2 end?
Senua and Thórgestr enter Borgarvirki, while Fargrímr and Ástríðr rescue the hostages. Thórgestr tries to reason with his father, Goði, to stop what he is doing, but during their conversation it quickly becomes clear that Goði is playing a role in controlling the giant, as he understands that he lets fear control him. I lose. When Gordy learns that the slaves have been freed, he attempts to subdue and sacrifice Senua, but ends up fatally wounding Torgestor.
In another dream-like scene, Senua learns that Gordie created the giants and blames him for all the bad things that are happening, causing people to fall in line and follow him. In her dying words, Thórgestr tells Senua that if Gordy dies, someone equally bad will take Gordy’s place, and that she must “show them another way.” He dies after telling Senua that his father’s real name was Áleifr.
Senua faces Áleifr in a final battle, but while doing so, the darkness in her head tells Senua that if she is a leader, she will be like her father. She decides not to kill Gordie’s followers because it is clear that they turned against him after finding out what he was doing. Senua realizes that she is no longer alone and that the people around her encourage her and give her the strength to make better choices than before.
summary Hellblade 2 It’s more interesting on a thematic level. It’s a game about how fear can control our lives and influence our choices. Senua and many other giants acted out of fear and were punished for it and considered monsters. Ultimately, forming positive, deep relationships with others is what frees them from the vicious cycle of negative past relationships. The ending certainly leaves many unanswered questions about the fates of Áleifr, Fargrímr, and Ástríðr, but it concludes Senua’s arc of coming to terms with her psychosis and making choices in a very satisfying way.
