In a clip captured during a recent stream, Jesse ‘bubu dubu’ Moeller explained that he and his team were being eliminated by the Sentinels in the Halo Championship Series. He also explained in the Halo scene that the organization’s future was uncertain, raising concerns among fans.
Sentinels has yet to comment on these claims, but the organization is notorious for radio silence when it comes to the Halo ecosystem.
move forward
In a short video captured while broadcasting a ‘Health and Fitness’ stream, Sentinels’ head couple said:
The Sentinels pretty much said that all of us, like our entire team, were unrestricted free agents and available for exploration. They have not yet decided whether to field a fourth-year team.
The Sentinels aren’t one of the most winning teams in Halo space. In 2022, the organization won the Kansas City Major, defeating Cloud9 4-0 in the grand final to claim $140,000 in prize money. Not much has happened to the organization since then.
Most recently, the team placed 5th at the Halo World Championship tournament in Seattle.
Regardless of the team’s status, it would be a blow to the Halo Championship Series to see the organization split and move forward. Sentinels have established themselves in the HCS since their rebirth a few years ago, sharing the stage with some of the biggest names in gaming like FaZe Clan and OpTic Gaming.
It’s been a rough few years for the Halo esports scene, despite 343 Industries (now Halo Studios) and Esports Engine’s efforts to build a solid competitive ecosystem and entice fans around the world to attend a series of major events.
