Australia cruised to a 3-0 series win over Scotland in the third T20I at the Grange on Saturday, with Cameron Green’s all-round heroics helping the side clinch a 3-0 series win.
The West Australian took three wickets before scoring an unbeaten 50 in the run chase, which helped Australia reach their target of 150 runs with 23 balls to spare.
Batting at No. 4, Green crossed the boundary rope five times en route to 62*(39), his highest score so far in his T20I career, while his bowling figures of 3-35 from four overs are also career-bests.

Green’s career-best performance helps seal sweep | 02:37
“There are some big guys that aren’t around,” Green said with a laugh after being named the game’s MVP.
“Of course this is (Glenn Maxwell’s) spot, but I’m happy to fill it and gain experience.”
Scotland’s Brandon McMullin scored his second fifty of the series as the home side took a lead of 9-149, but it wasn’t enough to prevent Australia winning by six wickets.
Scotland captain Richie Barrington said: “This has been a tough week for us in terms of results, but to play a team like Australia and have the chance to go to Scotland and play a series has been a fantastic experience for all of us.”
“That exposure requires more from us as a team to continue to evolve.”
With Australia captain Mitchell Marsh taking the starting spot and bowling first, McMullin was the linchpin of Scotland’s innings after taking the second wicket and forming a 34-run partnership with opener George Munsey.
Travis Head’s stunning one-handed catch at short fine leg ended McMullen’s 56 (39) run, and his departure led to a late collapse at 4-8 from 17 balls.
Green was the best performer among the Australian bowlers, taking on Dusty, Barrington and all-rounder Mark Watt, while seamers Shaun Abbott and Aaron Hardy each took two wickets.
Scottish seamer Brad Currie removed both of Australia’s openers in the powerplay, which also included another dugout for batting prodigy Jake Fraser-McGurk, before Marsh and Greene formed a partnership of 61 runs for the third wicket.
Green reached his second T20I fifty off 33 balls, while a signature strike from pinch-hitter Tim David (25 off 14 balls) put the result beyond doubt.
Earlier, rising star Cooper Connolly became the 110th male player to represent Australia by receiving his maiden T20I cap.
The 21-year-old did not rely heavily on his batting, taking figures of 0-25 from three overs.
“He seemed to like it,” Green said of Connolly.
“He likes the big moments and he’s a really calm guy before his debut. He had dry heaving before his first game.
“He looks very comfortable, knows his game very well. We know what he can do with the bat, but at the same time it’s a good opportunity to see what he can do with the ball and I thought he bowled beautifully.”
Australia’s tour of England resumes next week with a three-match T20 series against England, which begins at 3.30am AEST in Southampton on Thursday.
