Portuguese goalkeeper Rui Patricio has officially ended his time at Roma.
On Sunday, June 30, Patricio’s contract with the Capital club expired.
The player therefore becomes a free agent after spending the last three years in the Italian capital.
Patricio, who helped lead Roma to a historic conference league title in 2022, thanked the club and its fans in a touching message posted on Instagram.
“Roma, thank you for these three years! 129 games and 2 European finals!
I would like to thank the board, the players, the coaches, the medical staff, the warehouse staff, the kitchen staff, the security staff, the Roma press room staff and everyone I have worked with in recent years.
Special thoughts and big hugs to all my fans who have supported me on this unforgettable journey!
This is the end of my journey to Rome, and I take with me many professional and personal memories. I wish you all the best and hope that you will continue to win many other competitions with the same passion and determination that has distinguished us so far!
As always, Forza Roma!”
