A federal judge has found Rudy Giuliani in contempt of court for failing to comply with requests for asset information related to a defamation judgment ordering him to pay $148 million to two Georgia election officials.
The Associated Press reported that U.S. District Judge Lewis Liman in New York ruled that the former Trump lawyer and New York mayor “willfully violated the court’s clear order” by “missing” the Dec. 20 deadline to submit the information. reported.
Lyman withheld information about assets he could use to pay Georgia election workers Ruby Freeman and Wandrea Moss after Giuliani accused them of committing fraud in the 2020 election and “tried to run the clock by delaying it.” He said he did.

This comes after Giuliani, 80, gave three hours of testimony on Friday and Monday outlining delays in sharing information about his assets.
Liman said he would sanction Giuliani for contempt and would decide later.
Another trial scheduled for Jan. 16 will determine whether the New York Yankees World Series ring and Giuliani’s Florida home can be used to pay off debts owed to Freeman and Moss.
