Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-Texas) said Sunday that he will send a letter to President Biden requesting that he undergo a drug test before and after Thursday’s debate with former President Trump.
Jackson, who served as Trump’s White House physician and medical advisor, also claimed without evidence that Biden had been taking “performance-enhancing drugs” in an interview with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News’ “Sunday Morning Futures”.
“I will now speak on behalf of millions of concerned Americans to demand that (Biden) undergo a drug test before and after this debate, especially looking for performance-enhancing drugs,” Jackson said. “Because as we saw in his recent State of the Union address, there were comments from Joe Biden that were not at all similar to what we have seen on a daily basis over the last three and a half years. ”
“And there’s absolutely no way to explain the fact that they drugged him other than he was doing something,” he continued.
Biden’s State of the Union address drew praise from Democrats, with supporters saying the president appeared energetic and energetic as he continued to battle concerns about his age.
Jackson noted that he sent five letters to the White House requesting that Biden take a cognitive test similar to the one given to Trump when he was president. The test, which Trump has repeatedly boasted is “the best”, is intended to detect signs of Alzheimer’s disease and other cognitive diseases.
The congressman also speculated, without evidence, that the president had been drugged while at Camp David this week. Biden plans to spend the week before the debate at the presidential villa as part of his preparations.
“I think this will probably happen at Camp David this week,” Jackson said. “Part of it will probably be an experiment to get the dosage right because we need to treat his cognition.”
“They have to give him something to help him think more properly. They need to give him something to wake him up. “For his vigilance,” he continued. “And then he became agitated. We see it all the time. And that’s a common thing. “That is a common symptom or sign of the cognitive impairment he appears to be suffering from.”
While serving as Trump’s personal physician, Jackson was criticized for exaggerating Trump’s health for political reasons. Trump was a major supporter of Jackson’s 2020 congressional campaign.
Rep. Lee was retroactively demoted from rear admiral to captain in 2022 following an inspector general’s report that he was drunk and abused his subordinates while serving as the president’s physician.
White House spokesman Andrew Bates dismissed Jackson’s claims, pointing to previous comments he made to Politico last month.
“It suggests that Republican officials are so intimidated by the president’s State of the Union address that they can’t stop publishing it,” Bates said.
