Former India national cricket team opener Aakash Chopra has lashed out at batsmen including Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma after they failed in the Adelaide Test match against the Australian national cricket team.
Aakash Chopra feels that batting failure was the main reason for the Indian national cricket team’s humiliating 10-wicket defeat in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25.

Indian batsmen failed badly in the Adelaide Test.
In the pink-ball Test match against Australia, the visiting team’s batsmen were in dismal form. In the first innings, the Rohit Sharma-led side scored 180 runs in 44.1 overs.
Nitish Kumar Reddy top-scored for the team with 42 runs, while KL Rahul and Shubman Gill scored 37 and 31 runs respectively.
In the second innings, the Indian batsmen performed even more poorly and the team scored 175 runs, setting a target of 19 runs for the hosts.
Nitish Kumar Reddy once again top-scored the team with 42 runs in his bag, while Rishabh Pant and Shubman Gill scored 28 runs each.
In fact, it was a failure not once, but twice – Akash Chopra
In a video shared on his official YouTube channel after Team India lost by 10 wickets in the Adelaide Test, Akash Chopra criticized the batsmen for failing to hit even 50 balls in the second innings. He elaborated:
“Where did we go wrong? It’s a big problem. In fact, it was a missed hit not once, but twice. The decision to bat first was absolutely right. When we hit 180 in the first inning, but the ball fell flat in the second inning.
“There was definitely some help in the first innings. If you can’t get 80 overs in two innings in a Test match, that’s a problem. Not a single person in the team said they would do 80-100. Not a single player played 50 balls. “No one has played 50 balls.”
In the end, Indian’s batting weaknesses were revealed once again – Akash Chopra
Aakash Chopra said that Team India suffers losses in the match as the batsmen are unable to play longer innings. He added that the team’s ‘batting weakness’ has once again been exposed by the Australian bowlers and India’s situation looks disastrous.
“In the end, the Indian’s batting weaknesses have been exposed once again. When wickets fall with the new ball, Virat Kohli is at number four. A lot is expected from Rishabh Pant, but he has not hit anything big so far. Aakash Chopra said, “This series and number six Rohit Sharma is not looking good. “This is the biggest reason why India lost in Adelaide,” he said.
