- At VivaTech 2024, United Robitics Group (URG) will present real new products along with other robots from the URG family, fully tailored to the needs of the retail industry.
- uLink is a highly flexible and versatile platform for rapid adaptation and support in the field of logistics and automation.
- uLink is the first URG solution with open APIs for seamless integration with operating systems and increased operational flexibility.
Paris/Bochum, May 22, 2024– United Robotics Group presented the new service robots of the uLink series for the first time at VivaTech in Paris. These robots feature simple integration, flexible customization and individual expansion. Ideal for use in retail, warehouse logistics and manufacturing sectors. URG, the European market leader in service robotics solutions, is expanding its CobiotX portfolio globally with the latest Cobiot for integrated workflows in the sectors mentioned above. The modular platform fits perfectly into each workflow and can be expanded using industry standard accessories. uLink is designed to simplify operation and increase safety and efficiency in a variety of environments. The unique combination of features sets a new standard in the industry, from modular design and open APIs to 3D LiDAR-based navigation and real-time operational data visualization.
uLink is equipped with an IDE, SDK and fleet management tools, allowing seamless integration and control of various components such as LiDARS, motors or sensors. Thanks to powerful software functions for configuring and managing robot applications, as well as sensors and related accessories, robots can easily handle a variety of logistics challenges in retail and warehousing, depending on the industry, company size and automation requirements. The uLink accessory interface is also modular, allowing it to support payloads of up to 60 kg in its area of use. SEER navigation control allows deliveries in predefined areas of up to 400,000 m².
The plug-and-play mechanism allows additional accessories to be integrated into the platform, such as lockers for click-and-collect or secret deliveries, pegboards for delivery of tools and spare parts, and trays for carrying inventory. Partner integrators can also develop new accessories to meet your specific needs.
“The retail and logistics sector has been undergoing tremendous change for several years due to the growth of e-commerce, automation and a shortage of skilled workers in the value chain. Whether it is a shelf replenisher or a water spider (e.g. someone responsible for inventory in a warehouse or production), it is important to support players and provide solutions that meet their specific needs,” explains Thomas Linkenheil, Co-CEO of United Robotics Group. do. “In a highly competitive sector, consumers want fast, personalized service. Our new logistics solutions enable service providers to deliver modern customer service without cumbersome warehouse searches or tedious processes that can take up time and impact customer business.”
First Cobiot with open API for connectivity and flexibility
Like all CobiotX solutions from United Robotics Group, uLink features a particularly user-friendly user interface. It is based on the no-code principle and allows users with no robotics knowledge to quickly integrate it into their daily tasks. uLink also has an open API platform. This means the solution can communicate with existing operations and other connected systems such as automatic doors or elevators, and can also work with other robots and automated guided vehicles such as AMRs and AGVs.
With the market launch of uLink, United Robotics Group is expanding its range of robotic solutions for logistics, warehouse management and industrial manufacturing. Robots will be used in retail and logistics environments such as department stores, supermarkets, warehouses, and fulfillment centers, as well as factories and production facilities, airports, and medical facilities.
The robot is equipped with 3D LiDAR and PL-LiDAR systems to maximize mobility precision. The platform can immediately register changes in the environment, such as specific movements, people, or machines, and react accordingly. This connects to an online dashboard that facilitates both workflow management and quick decisions between front and back-of-house teams.
uLink boasts a long battery life of up to 14 hours on a single charge. The solution also includes an intelligent wireless charging function developed together with a renowned German battery manufacturer. This means that it can automatically return to the charging station between individual work steps. The robots comply with the highest security and data protection standards, including the EU Machinery Directive “Performance Level D” and GDPR regulations.
uLink will be on display at the VivaTech stand in Paris (Hall 1, Stand G18) from May 22 to 25 along with United Robotics Group’s logistics and warehouse management equipment, including the RBWatcher and MobilePalletizer.
uLink can be leased for €699 per month or purchased for €19,900 via United Robotics Group’s Robot as a Service (RaaS) model.
