Interactive AI Advisor uses application databases and accelerates component discovery for cost-effective robotic solutions.
Cologne, December 11, 2024 – igus® has expanded its online platform RBTX.com with a new AI chatbot. Interactive consultants are intended to enable companies with limited prior experience and technical know-how to quickly and safely configure low-cost automation solutions to increase their competitiveness. First-time users are excited about intuitive AI solutions.
Many businesses already know that automation offers tremendous potential to solve the challenges of the rapidly changing world of work. But important questions still remain. How do I implement this? RBTX provides the answer. There are over 500 robotic solutions on the online market, 95% of which cost less than €12,000. Here, even companies with no prior knowledge of robotics can configure cost-effective, low-cost automation solutions (LCAs) using the plug-and-program principle. “With RBTX, we want to gradually remove all the barriers that prevent companies from starting automation,” says Alexander Mühlens, Authorized Representative and Head of Low-Cost Automation at igus. For example, what is important here is ensuring interoperability of all provided components. This makes it almost impossible to make a bad purchase. “A further step on this path is now the introduction of new AI advisors that interact with stakeholders to shorten component discovery at an ever-increasing scale.”
AI-Berater uses empirical data from hundreds of successful LCA projects.
The new AI chatbot at https://chat.rbtx.de helps users find suitable LCA components through written interaction. Artificial intelligence leverages empirical data from hundreds of projects that companies have already successfully automated using RBTX. Responses are targeted accordingly. Example: A small shop is struggling with a labor shortage and wants to automate the task of loading blanks into CNC machines. The company’s technical managers use a new AI chatbot to ask, “Which robot is right for loading my CNC machine?” Within seconds, the AI says: “The robolink robotic arm from igus has the right solution here. The arm moves across five axes, has a reach of 790 mm, a speed of 7 pieces per minute, and uses a 3D camera to position the part. Price starts from 2,766 euros,” the user then asks which gripper is suitable: “The parallel gripper from Zimmer would be a suitable choice.” In this natural conversation, users construct individual LCA solutions one after another.
“First users are excited about the new AI Advisor”
Companies experimenting with automation are excited about new AI chatbots. “Many customers have already given us feedback that they have started conversations with the AI robot advisor. “This gave us a better feel for the possibilities of low-cost automation and significantly accelerated our search for the right components,” says Mühlens. “Therefore, we plan to expand our AI consultants with additional capabilities in the future. For example, consultants should be able to insert images and video footage from references into their answers and develop a complete LCA solution.” With target price.
